Heavy Equipment Operator

Have you ever driven down a highway and looked out over a vast piece of wide-open land and seen equipment moving dirt and gravel making way for homes, a place of business or healthcare facility? Heavy equipment operators for equipment such as bulldozers, cranes and excavators are as essential as the people building the homes, working in those businesses and hospitals
Oil and gas are part of everyday life. From going to and from work, school, driving on route to an emergency, or heading on that much-needed vacation, heavy equipment operators are part of the integral team that keeps everything and everyone moving.
A disaster strikes in or near your town or city. Heavy equipment operators are there to help open or rebuild roads, move debris, and transport materials. Mother nature sends 2 feet of snow to the area, and people still must get to work. It is the heavy equipment operators who will maintain the roads and handle the snow removal.
If you are considering a career in the trades, then give some thought to becoming a Heavy Equipment Operator. Jobs are available across the nation. Many workers learn how to operate equipment through job training and apprenticeship programs or attending vocational schools. If you are a hands-on learner, can adapt to working in different weather conditions, and open to something other than a 9 to 5 work schedule, then this may be a career field for you.
Imagine being part of the team building the new extension of the Orlando International Airport or operating the equipment that is building a new tram, gondola, and mountain facilities in Big Sky Montana. As a Heavy Equipment Operator with the US Navy Seabees you’ll be part of a team that knows how to use machinery to support successful missions. You decide your path, your purpose.
